Jim Martin

Hi! I'm Jim, a designer and engineer in SF. I make tools & toys that help people realize their creative potential. I believe software shapes art, identity, social culture in a way that can be understood and thoughtfully designed.

Today, I work on Roblox Studio; the tools behind every Roblox game and many young people's first experience creating software. Here's my studio design philosophy, and some work my team and I have shipped.

Before Roblox I designed creative tools at Netflix and Pixar, with a similar mission for more professional artists. I've also contributed to Artbreeder as a design engineer. I'm most proud of collager, and created a ton of interesting experiments with the gang at studio morphogen.
